*aftr tea with Leah n sending her off, the phone rang*
Thrax; Hello?
Eduardo: Is ur wife there, Thrax?
Thrax; 8covered the speaker8 Ozzy, it's Eduardo
Ozzie: Thanks *takes the phone* Hello? Uh-huh? Yeah...OK, sure...Oh he has to go too? OK then...Bye *hangs up*
Thrax; Wht was that?
Ozzie: Eduardo said all law enforcers r invited to premiere on a new army barracks system, tht includes all PIs like us
Thrax; 8didn't look too sure8
Ozzie: *noticed* Why? Wht's wrong?
Thrax; Ya the history we have with army barricks
Ozzie: I knw bt its not abt us. We're just gonna see wat's going on
Thrax; 8nods8
Ozzie: *goes to get dressed*
Thrax; 8goes to clean up8
Ozzie: *came out* U ready, love?
Thrax; Yeah
Ozzie: Lets go then
Thrax; 8fallows him8
*the duo took the car n made their way to the army barracks*

Ozzie: *took his hand n led him in, meeting Eduardo at the entrance*
Eduardo: *waved at them*

Eduardo: Glad u could make it. The whole team r here
Thrax; 8looked at the barracks8
*there were ppl frm evry precinct as well as existing PIs throughout Goliath*
Ozzie: Wht's this all abt here, Ed?
Eduardo: Army barracks hv been collecting a few talents ard n created a new form of army barracks to battle hazardous infection. There's been a string of it going on lately due to anti-gargoyle parties
Thrax; 8arched a brow8
Ozzie: Anti-gargoyles?
Eduardo: Yeah, the gargoyle teams r hving a bit of problems with their cover being blown by this group called Xanatos. Long time enemy since Goliath n the clan showed up
Thrax; How?
Ozzie: Yeah, we only knw tht Goliath n his clan had gotten some sort of gift to shape-shift due to a favour, bt wht is this Xanatos guy?
Eduardo: Well remember tht they had been in stone for a millenia? Xanatos took them as part of decors in his home for the better part of the millenium, then wen the curse was ovr, he had tried to recruit Goliath n his team to be like his underground bk-up muscle or something. It went well for a while at first until they realized Xanatos was more than just a philanthropist. A bit of a disagreement tht fell short to a sort of war btwn him n the clan. Goliath n the clan fled, n due to helping out the girls called The Three Sisters, they were granted shape-shifting powers to avoid being detected by Xanatos. Recently cover's been blown, n Xanatos is been at their toes evr since. Heard he's developed a lethal virus to weed out the gargoyles hidden among the humans
Thrax; The Wierd Sisters? I thought someone named Puck gained them the shape-shifting ability
Eduardo: Yeah, they sent him to do it
Thrax; Those three sound like they don't help without a reason
Eduardo: For all we knw, they could be behind the blown cover, seeing as they only serve those tht serves their purposes
Thrax; Thought as much and I think Goliath knows it to
Eduardo: Yeah, tht's why while they're figuring out a way to combat the virus with an antidote of some kind, we'll be here fighting to keep this city safe
Thrax; Good luck
Eduardo: Anyway, lets go, I think we're supposed to reach the main hall
Thrax; 8fallowed him8
Ozzie: *followed as well*
*the whole group went to the main hall where the army barracks commanders were waiting*
Thrax; 8looked over8
*the head general came up*
HG: Thanks for ur patience. We've now come to show u our latest batch of barracks, prepped up with the latest technology of the neural network
Thrax; 8bit his lip8
*a door slid open to reveal a group of viruses, some of them hybrids, n one of them was Edison*
Ozzie: *gasped*
Thrax; 8snarled8
Eduardo: *was surprised too*
Thrax; What is he doing here?
HG: He is part of our recruit in the new barracks group. We call them "The Deadman". Troops! Attention!
*the group stood in attention*
HG: Code name Woodpecker!
Edison: Yes, sir!
HG: Show them wat u can do!
Thrax; 8was on alert8
Edison: *brandished thumb rings tht had something like a star razor cowboys hv on their boots, sliced his palms n somehow solidified his blood into bullet like bombs, then shot at a bulls eye target nearby*
*everyone was amazed*
Thrax; 8hissed8
Ozzie: Wht's the meaning of this? He's a criminal! He kidnapped my son n tried to kill my bros!
HG: Oh they're all criminals. Criminals on death row in fact, bt given a 2nd chance in life. Times r cricital, PI Jones. We need evry manpower we hv against a bigger threat
Thrax; 8knew this wasn't gonna end well8
Ozzie: *looks uneasy at the sight of Edison*
Edison: *turns to see Oz n Thrax, bt his eyes didnt seem to recognize them*
Thrax; 8still kept alert
Ozzie: He...doesnt seem to recognize us
Thrax; We'll see
*the HG told the rest of the team to demonstrate their powers, ranging frm shields, blade-wielding n such, all with the power to materialize n solidify their blood*
Thrax; 8memorixed all of them8
HG: Troops, fall bk!
*the group left bk behind the sliding door*
Thrax; 8narrowed his eyes8
HG: They're all meant for a good cause. All these criminals hv been wiped clean of their slate n existence n their memories erased to better absorbed their training. They're all codenamed with birds' names to disassociate themselves frm their true identity n is led by the group leader Code Name Owl, which is under our supervision of course
Ozzie: Memory erased? No wonder he didnt recognize us, Thrax
Thrax; 8nods8 Let's hope it stays that way
HG: Lemme introduce u to the head of the group. Code Name Owl, report for duty
*the sliding door opened to reveal tht it was Ramon*
Thrax; /Not him again/
Ozzie: *gasped at the sight of him* Oh no...Orion is not gonna like this
Thrax; 8nods8
HG: Code Name Owl, show them wat u got
Ramon: *demonstrated his powers as minefields, throwing his blood onto the target in which they explode a couple of seconds of contact*
Thrax; 8metally recorded it8
Ozzie: Man, not only Orion, Taka would evn be more upset abt this if he knew
Thrax; And that's the last thing we need
HG: Alright, good work, Code Name Owl. Stand dwn n fall bk
Ramon: *nodded n went bk being the silding door*
Thrax; 8narrowed his eyes8
*the demonstration soon ended n evryone was sent off*
Eduardo: Well, tht was a surprising turn of events
Thrax; No kidding
Ozzie: I didnt expect tht they actually kept Ramon too. Some technology they got to bring him bk to life
Thrax; Or sorcery
Eduardo: I wouldnt put it past tht, bt the govt has stopped using sorcery a long time ago. We all agreed tht to blend in with the times, we've decided to put aside sorcery
Thrax; 8didn't look convinced8
Ozzie: Maybe the army barracks still used them?
Eduardo: Who knws. I just hope these Deadman would do their job well in fighting Xanatos' invasion
Thrax; We'll see
Ozzie: *nodded*
Thrax; 8sighed8
Ozzie: *together along wiht others, was given the file of each of the Deadman members by one of the army barracks' secretaries*
Thrax; 8looked at it8
*all of the files were bio, history, criminal record, new code name n powers of the Deadman tht were just demonstrated before, including bios of Edison n Ramon*
Thrax; 8narrowed his eyes8
Ozzie: Well, at least we get a copy so tht we can keep them in chk *held onto them*
Thrax; 8nods8
*the couple went bk home*
