*soon, the egg-laying was almost close to its peak, n everyone was getting ready. The mayor had set up a countdwn billboard to countdwn the time the egg will be laid, n certain intermissions in btwn shows or adverts, they will showcase live footage frm the eye channel how things were doing btwn Goliath n Angel n their egg inside her*
Alexis; Well everthing's going well
Takashi: Hai hai, we get more n more customers asking for clothes to be prepared for the celebration
Morty: N we're getting calls everywhere to do catering at their houses or hotels, n we're fully booked in the restaurant as well

Ozzie: *his eyes suddenly snapped open n he hugged his belly, screaming in pain*
Thrax; 8pressed the emergancy button8
Ozzie: *continued screaming in pain as the docs came in, gripping hard onto Thrax's sleeve*
Thrax; It's ok ozzy, you're going to be alright
Ozzie: Ooowww~!!! Oooowww~!!! It hurts~!!! Something's not right, Thrax~!!! It hurts so bad, oh Hector~!!! Aaaaahhh~!!!
Thrax; 8held his mate close8
Doc: OK, easy there, easy *turns to a nurse* Give him some painkillers. Mild ones. We dont want to hurt the baby. Better yet, get the endorphines. They'll work just fine

Doc: *takes the endorphines* Here, I'm just gonna give u something to bring dwn the pain just a little bit *injected it into Oz* There, tht should do it. How far apart is ur pain?
Ozzie: I...I dunno...Th...There's no gap...Its...Its just reli painful...!! Oow...!!
Thrax; 8took his hand8
Doc: *chked him* Well, it seems like ur canal has been fully dilated. I suppose we wont hv to waste time now. I think u can start pushing, Mr Jones-Roja

Ozzie: *pushed dwn as hard as he could, gripping hard on Thrax's hand n the bedsheet, littered with cold sweat*

Ozzie: *pushed dwn, only to suddenly opened his eyes wide n screamed in pain again, n this was no ordinary scream of birthing pain, it was total searing pain*
Thrax; 8gasped8
Doc: *quickly tend to him* Easy there, easy. Talk to me, Mr Jones-Roja
Ozzie: It hurts~!!! It hurts~!!! Its burning thru me~!!! Oh Hector, my baby~!!!
Thrax; It's going to be ok baby
Doc: *chked n gasped to see tht he wasnt seeing a head, bt something tht looked like a huge crusted tip of tip of an egg-like shape poking out of the canal*
Thrax; What's wrong?
Doc: I...I dont knw. Nurse, hand me some mild novocaine

Doc: *rubs some novocaine ard the birth canal to mildly numb the pain, then handed it bk to the nurse* I'm not sure wht's going on here, bt I hope this will ease the pain. Just keep pushing there, Mr Jones-Roja
Ozzie: *shook his head* No, no, no~! I can't~!! It fucking hurts~!!!
Thrax; Please Ozzy
Ozzie: *sobs hard, burying his head against Thrax's chest, shaking his head like a little kid*
Thrax; You need to push ozzy
Doc: C'mon, Mr Jones-Roja. Get it ovr n done with. Just push a few times n it'll be all ovr
Ozzie: *bit his lip hard until it bled as he pushed dwn as hard as he could*
Thrax; 8held his breath8
Doc: Tht's vry good. Keep pushing *tho he looks a little worried as the more the crusted egg-like thing came out, the more it chafed against the birth canal, making it bleed more than it should*
Ozzie: *gripped the sheets until it tore as he kept on pushing, gripping Thrax's hand to the point of almost crushing it*
Thrax; 8didn't let it bother him8
Doc: Ur almost there *caught the egg-like thing* Ur almost there. Just a bit more!
Thrax; Just one more Ozzy
Ozzie: *takes a deep breath n pushed dwn with all his might, screaming out loud in the process*
Doc: *caught the egg-like thing n wrapped it ard in a clean towel*
Thrax; 8looked over8
Ozzie: *pants hard* I...Is my baby...Is my baby...OK...? I dont hear them cry...Where's my baby...?
Doc: *was a little hesitant to let them see*
Thrax; 8rubbed his eyes, not believing what he sees8
Ozzie: I wanna see my baby...!! *saw the thing the doc was carrying n gasped* W...Wht is tht...?!
Doc: Its...well, I cant explain it bt...this is ur baby...
Thrax; An egg?
Ozzie: Wh...Wha...?? It cant be right...
Doc: Yes, well, its still hard to say, n I cant determine whether its healthy or not or the gender because of the thick crust. This may sound weird bt...I think ur gonna hv to hatch it, Mr Jones-Roja
Thrax; 8looked at his mate8
Ozzie: *trembled a little, bt finally held out his arms for the egg*
Doc: Lemme clean it up first *asked for a basin of warm water to clean up the egg*

Doc: *cleaned the egg thoroughly, once the blood n placenta was gone, it revealed to be a rather transluscent crusty-looking egg, bt it had some sort of colour tht almost resembled the AI's eyes*
Thrax; 8bit his lip8
Ozzie: *didnt reli notice it as he waited patiently for the doc to be done with the cleaning*
Doc: *was done n wrapped it in another clean towel before passing it to Oz*
Thrax; 8swallowed8
Ozzie: *took the egg n hugged it close to his chest, not reli sure how to go abt it other than giving it his body warmth* There, there, Mama's here
Thrax; How long will it take to hatch?
Doc: Not reli sure. We'll just hv to wait n see. Other than tht, I think ur wife is pretty much in perfect health now he has come out of "hibernation". I will issue some cream to put on the chafed birth canal so tht he wont get any infection. Well, I guess congratulations is in order then
Thrax; 8nuzzled ozzy8
Doc: *put some of the cream first for Oz before leaving them two to their privacy*
Ozzie: *nuzzled Thrax bk as he continued to hold the egg close* I dont understand. Why is our baby born like this? This is so weird...
Thrax; The AI
Ozzie: Wha...? Why? Wht do u mean?
Thrax; The AI reconstructed your womb, no telling what else it did
Ozzie: Then...Then would he be able to transfer his consciousness to our baby? I knw its a sci-fi thing tht exists on TV bt...wht if...
Thrax; 8bit his lip8
Ozzie: U think...maybe bcoz this is a gargoyle city, the AI had modified my womb to suit the city's functions? Wht if our baby end up getting gargoyle features wen he's not supposed to?
Thrax; 8kissed him8 It doesn't matter as long our little one's alright
Ozzie: *nodded n held the egg close, trying to give as much body warmth as possible for it to hatch*
Thrax; 8took his coat then placed it over the egg8
Ozzie: *wrapped it ard nice n tight before hugging it again* Do u think it will come out a boy or girl?
Thrax; Gender doesn't matter to me baby
Ozzie: Neither do I. Its so frustrating. I carried it for almost to term, n now I hv to wait again
Thrax; 8stroked his face8
Ozzie: *nuzzled against the hand* I wish we knew how long our baby will hatch
Thrax; So do I

Ozzie: U think...its Angel?
Thrax; 8nods as he watched burst into an underground room where several females and there mates were8
Ozzie: Ooh, this is gonna be good. N its a live feed

8through the eye channel they watched as Goliath couched ans comforted his mate8
Ozzie: *watched as Angel hugs Goliath, her birth pangs starting. Unlike human birth, her contractions r not as bad or as painful, she only needs to breathe thru it n push like usual as she lay the egg* Interesting. No yelling involved. I bet the entire city is watching this live feed
Thrax; This is an important event
8they watched as Angel laboured for a few hours until finally she laid not one but two eggs8
Ozzie: Wow! Twins! Isnt tht extremely rare?
Thrax; In gargoyle spieces yes
*the females brought Angel to rest n helped cleaned the eggs before passing it to the happy couple*
Thrax; 8chuckled8
8all the couples gathered their eggs then gently arranged them in a small shallow pit8
Ozzie: How r they gonna tell which is which?
Thrax; Scent probably
Ozzie: *hears the happy commotion outside the ward* Sounds like everyone's rejoicing ovr it

Ozzie: *looked dwn at his own "egg" n sighed, nuzzling it*
Thrax; 8kissed his cheek8
Ozzie: *leans up to kiss his cheek as well* I hope to see our baby soon
Thrax; So do I
Ozzie: I...I hv a feeling it will be a Jared
Thrax; 8smiled gently8
Ozzie: *yawned, tired out frm the grueling birth*
Thrax; 8gently took the egg8
Ozzie: *whined, dont want to let it go*
Thrax; It's ok ozzy
Ozzie: *slowly let go before fatigue took ovr n fell asleep straightaway*
Thrax; 8gently set the egg in the hospital bed8
