[the nxt day, aftr all the other kids went off to school, Jared stayed home with Oz n Thrax to wait for Devin's arrival]

Jared: [was stirring his bowl of cereal, not reli eating]

Ozzy: [chked the clock frm time to time]

Thrax; 8bit his lip8

Ozzy: [sighed as he made some coffee for him n Thrax just to wait for time to pass by]

Thrax; 8waited8

[aftr abt an hr, the doorbell finally rang]

Thrax; 8looked out through the peephole8

[it was Devin as he flashed his badge at the door, with someone tht looks like a partner with him]

Thrax; 8let them in8

Devin: Hey, guys. Sorry we're late. The investigation took a little longer than expected

Thrax; Understandable

Ozzy: /Jared, the nice policeman is here. U ready to talk to them?/

Jared: [looked at Devin n his partner a little warily]

Devin: Take ur time, kid, no rush

Thrax; 8stood by his son8

Devin: [produced a pen n notepad for Jared to write his statement, knwing tht he was mute n it would be easier than going thru sign language translation]

Thrax; 8looked at Jared8

Jared: [took a deep breath n took the stationeries n started writing]

8they all waited8

Jared: [wrote dwn word for word in detail, learning frm how Oz had taught him during his days as a cop to tell the truth n give as much details as possible]

Thrax; 8watched8

Devin: [waited patiently for Jared to finish]

Ozzy: [offered coffee to Devin n his partner]

Thrax; 8waited8

Jared: [heaved a sigh of relief as he signed his name under the statement he gave]

Thrax; 8stroked his hair8

Devin: [took the statement n read thru it] Alright, evrything seems to be in order. I'll hv to warn u tht there will be a chance tht u'll be called into the station to give extra statement. Dont worry, we hv a translator on hand in our office, n we can provide u with a lawyer if u need to, so u'll be in good hands

Jared: [nodded a little nervously]

Thrax; Is that all ya need/

Devin: [nod] For now. We'll call u if we need anything more. Don't worry, guys. We'll make sure this ends well [left with his partner]

Thrax; 8picked Jared up8

Ozzy: [sent them off, then sighed in small relief] /Tht went well, more or less/

Thrax; 8nuzzles Jared8

Jared: [leaned his head on Thrax's shoulder]

Ozzy: /U OK, sweetie?/

Jared: [nodded n signed] Can I go to my room now?

Thrax; 8brought him there8

Ozzy: [cleaned up the table as he watched them leave]

Thrax; 8set him on the bed8

Jared: [nodded a thanks, signed] I...wanna be alone for a while, k?

Thrax; Of course, call us if ya need anything ok?

Jared: [nodded n grabbed a book frm the shelf nxt to his bed n flipped to the page he bookmarked n started reading]

Thrax; 8let him be8

Ozzy: [was getting ready to go to the office room wen he saw Thrax coming out] /Hey, babe. How's he doing?/

Thrax; Hard to say at this time

Ozzy: /Let's just hope tht things will get better n Jared can put this behind him/

Thrax; With such situations no one can put it behind em baby

Ozzy: /True, bt let's hope at least it'll bring closure/

Thrax; Hopefully
